My Story
From the time I was two years old, my love for horses was already taking shape. I first fell in love with our neighbors’ horses, insisting on feeding them carrots every day, and found another friend in the donkey down the street.
My first summer riding camp sealed this bond for life. What started as childhood curiosity quickly became my passion and my purpose. My journey has been marked by unforgettable equine partners:
Rambo, my first lease and 11th birthday gift, taught me patience and discipline;
Bonnie, my Christmas surprise, built my confidence and deepened my joy in the sport; and most recently,
Victor, the horse I flew all the way to the Netherlands to find. Victor was more than just a partner, he was a dream come true. His sudden passing due to colic surgery just two weeks after arriving home was heartbreaking, but his legacy forever imprinted resilience, adaptability, and determination into my character. Through him, I learned that setbacks don’t define you, but how you rise after them does, and this is what I’ve thrived to continue doing throughout my riding career.
Today, I balance a rigorous academic life with daily riding, which always remains my priority after schoolwork. As a working student with Skylar and Shayne Wireman at Chestnut Hills, I ride up to 11 horses a day, sharpening my skills across a wide range of mounts and earning opportunities to catch-ride at shows. I also groom at shows, gaining firsthand knowledge of the complete care and preparation of high-performance show horses. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for both the athleticism and horsemanship that define success in this sport.
Beyond the barn, I am entering my 5th year with the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA), where I’ve earned the Sportsmanship Award twice and qualified for Nationals in 2024. Competing in IEA has strengthened my ability to adapt quickly to unfamiliar horses and thrive in draw-based competition.
In school, I am an International Baccalaureate (IB) student with a 4.5 cumulative GPA, thriving academically while embracing the challenge of advanced coursework. I’m also an active member of the National Charity League, where I dedicate my time to meaningful volunteer work and giving back to my community. My story is not only about ribbons and results, it’s about resilience, leadership, and an enduring love for the horses that shape my daily life.
